Job Description
Computer World Services Corp (CWS) is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of agency-wide networks, including Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs). This role is integral in ensuring network performance, managing infrastructure, and providing production support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in network systems and protocols and be skilled in resolving complex issues to maintain a reliable IT environment.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Network Installation and Maintenance
  • Support the installation, implementation, and troubleshooting of WANs and LANs.
  • Assist in designing and managing WAN infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations and scalability.
  • Provide second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of network issues.
  • Support network cabling and infrastructure setup and maintenance.
  • Production Support
  • Manage day-to-day network operations, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with circuit and hardware vendors for problem resolution.
  • Escalate and communicate network status updates to agency management and internal customers.
  • Unified Communications & Video Teleconferencing
  • Provide support for unified communications systems and video teleconferencing solutions.
  • Network Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor network performance to ensure optimal reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage segment provisioning, IP address allocation, Network Access Control (NAC), and IPv6 implementation.
  • Technical Consultation and Documentation
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and processes.
Education & Experience
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in WAN and LAN installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Proven experience providing production support, including monitoring and resolving network issues.
  • Familiarity with dispatching and coordinating circuit and hardware vendors.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of software systems, network architectures, and communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
  • Proficiency in cabling, infrastructure support, and unified communications.
Certifications
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE preferred.
  • ITIL certification v4 preferred.
Security Clearance
  • Applicants must be eligible to obtain Public Trust clearance.
