Position Summary: Responsible for washing and disinfecting of tractors and trailers used to haul livestock through implementation of established production procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads power washing staff:
  • Washing trucks - Actively participates in truck washing as lead washer as well as coordinating other wash staff's activities
  • Manages staffing and work schedules; manages absences due to vacations, illness, etc
  • Models, teaches, and reinforces proper washing practices and general Bio-security including: Basic truck washing duties, Truck parking, Truck wash security, Job safety, Recordkeeping, Environmental/waste management issues
  • Schedules and leads staff meetings; oversees staff activities
  • Problem solving, conflict resolution, disciplinary action; Accurate and timely documentation and submission of related paperwork.
  • Teaches, models, and reinforces company values, business guidelines and procedures, desired work behaviors, and job safety practices
  • Maintains a safe work environment; Holds washing staff accountable to safe work practices
  • Trains and assists in hiring of staff:
  • Works with Human Resources to interview and select washing staff, trains/develops staff
  • Orients washing staff to their work-site and job, completes applicable training/paperwork
  • Supports staff by teaching necessary skills, evaluating job performance, and directing and coaching on improving job performance
  • Holds truck washers accountable for their performance to established wash standards
  • Monitors washing systems:
  • Develops a thorough understanding of bio-security rules and ensures compliance with all bio-security standards involving the truck wash.
  • Ensures proper sequencing of truck washes based on wash schedule and bio-security rules
  • Manages work schedules per bio-security rules and to achieve best cost
  • Monitors the truck washing system, identifies operational problems
  • Keeps appropriate people informed of situations, problems, and concerns
  • Performs general maintenance and repairs on facility and equipment
  • Performs timely and accurate data collection
  • Monitors proper functioning of machinery and equipment:
  • Electrical, natural gas, water systems and monitoring system
  • Power washers, tools, equipment, laundry machines, etc.
  • Septic tanks, water lines, safety signs, etc.
  • Office equipment (i.e. phone, fax, time clock, computer (as applicable to truck wash)
  • Purchases necessary operating supplies for truck wash via purchasing system
  • Administration:
  • Keeps supervisor informed and updated
  • Attends staff meetings as requested
  • Assists HR /Supervisor with personnel issues such as payroll, benefits, work comp
  • Conducts/participates in annual performance appraisal, job description updates
  • Company vehicle use
  • Abides by Passel Vehicle Use Policy
  • Safe/legal operation of company vehicle
  • Ensure proper maintenance of vehicle.
  • Wean coverage:
  • This role also requires a driver to have class A CDL. Provide coverage for drivers that are on vacation or sick based on biosecurity, including long haul driver based on needs.
  • Training on pig handling, loading and offloading process, and follow all DOT rules and regulations.

  • Driving experience with CDL preferred. Must be minimum of 18 years old.
