IT Systems Manager

LeClaire Manufacturing Co. | Bettendorf, IA

About the Role

The IT Systems Manager is responsible for the design, security, and daily operation of LeClaire Manufacturing’s IT and network infrastructure, and for advancing the company’s use of AI and automation to improve plant and business operations. This is a technical, hands-on position in which the successful candidate is directly engaged in administering systems and resolving issues.

The IT Systems Manager must be hardworking and dependable. The individual must be a willing helper and team member who can also work independently and stay on task without direction and be available on weekends or when systems go down to restore operations promptly.

Essential Functions

  • Design, secure, and maintain the company network, including VLANs, subnets, switches, firewalls, routing, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and remote connectivity
  • Evaluate, deploy, and support AI and automation tools that address real business and manufacturing needs, and advance the company’s technology capabilities
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (users, licensing, email, Teams, SharePoint) and Windows Active Directory / Entra
  • Build and maintain PCs, servers, VM hosts, and virtual machines
  • Maintain the company’s security and compliance posture, including support for CMMC requirements
  • Manage software and hardware implementations, upgrades, and licensing
  • Manage ERP system customizations, automation, and reporting
  • Manage IT-related outsourcing contracts and vendor relationships
  • Manage business phone systems
  • Work within the designated IT budget
  • Troubleshoot system and network outages and restore service promptly
  • Maintain accurate records and install systems as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous network administration experience is a strong prerequisite. The IT Systems Manager should be able to independently administer the company network, including VLANs, subnets, switches, firewalls, routing, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and remote connectivity. This is the foundation of the role.

The ideal candidate also:

  • Demonstrated experience applying AI and automation tools to real business or operational problems
  • Administers Microsoft 365 (users, licensing, email, Teams, SharePoint) and Windows Active Directory / Entra
  • Builds and maintains PCs, servers, VM hosts, and virtual machines
  • Has strong computer support, troubleshooting, and end-user/helpdesk experience
  • Has experience with ERP software
  • Brings a serving attitude toward internal users

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least 5 years of comparable hands-on IT experience, required
