GENERAL PURPOSE

The Advanced CAD Specialist is responsible for pioneering, developing, and mentoring advanced Creo Surfacing and solid modeling CAD and Windchill technologies across all MillerKnoll and subsidiary engineering teams. Supports product development through CAD solid modeling and PDM technologies within a project team environment to support major Seating initiatives

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages large and/or new paradigm CAD projects. Drives new strategic CAD initiatives. Emphasis on BOTH Surface and Top Down Master Model Management.

  • Creates Engineering Specification CAD Models and Drawing per HMI and Industry standards. Individually develops and presents next generation Engineering Specification standards and guidelines.

  • Expert ability to function in Creo Parametric and Creo ISDX Surfacing to support seating. Expert ability to create and modify Class A surfaces.

  • Individually develops and shares next generation Creo Parametric techniques and processes to new paradigms.

  • Independent part/assembly design and ownership on assigned projects.

  • Created complex assemblies utilizing advanced techniques to layout multiple variations of component and product layout interfaces to support assigned projects. Pioneers new techniques.

  • Advanced management of all Master Model and Top Down Design aspects of assigned Projects. Independently drives processes to new paradigms.

  • Problem solve and pioneer next level CAD and Engineering tools and processes. Independently drives processes to new paradigms.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to achieve business objectives.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in applied arts or related field.

  • 15+ years of professional CAD experience with proven leadership on large projects.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Expert in Creo & ISDX Surfacing, Top Down Design, master Model Management & PTC Windchill.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Financially literate with good business acumen; able to travel as needed.
