Hours: 7:00a - 4:00pย 

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, ALย 

We are seeking aย Cardiovascular Technologist,ย also referred toย a asย aย Cath Lab Technologist.ย A Cathย Lab Techย will be aย specialized healthcare professional dedicated toย assistingย in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Their responsibilities primarily involve performing diagnostic tests, managing equipment, and supporting physicians during procedures. Cardiovascular technologists are essential to cardiac care, ensuringย accurateย diagnostics, safe interventions, and high-quality patient support. Theirย expertiseย is crucial to the efficient operation of the cardiology department atย our hospital.ย 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):ย 

  • Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the electrical activity of the heart,ย monitorย the heart's rhythm, and detect abnormalities such as arrhythmiasย 
  • Work with cardiologists toย assistย in cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures, to examine the heart andย possibly treatย blockagesย 
  • Assistย with angioplasty and stenting, minimally invasive procedures designed to open blocked arteries and aid physicians in placing stents to keep these arteries openย 
  • Mayย assistย in the setup and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillator implantations, devices that help regulate the heart's rhythmย 
  • Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures, including positioning, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfortย 
  • During tests and interventional procedures,ย monitorย the patient's vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and report any issues to the supervising physicianย 
  • Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • ARRT-R and license as required by State or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab
  • Cardiovascular Technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring
