About the Opportunity

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for product engineering, design, CAD development, and quality support. The Engineer will work closely with production, sales, tooling, and operations teams to develop innovative solutions, support manufacturing processes, and ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Position Summary

The Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining part and mold CAD drawings, supporting product development and manufacturing processes, improving production methods, and assisting with quality assurance initiatives. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities Engineering & Design
  • Develop and maintain part drawings for customers, sales, production, and research and development activities.
  • Create and revise CAD drawings to ensure accurate document control.
  • Assist with print reading, product design, and prototype development.
  • Design molds and tooling solutions to support production requirements.
  • Coordinate with CNC machining and manufacturing teams regarding programming and production needs.
  • Participate in prototype and initial production runs to ensure design accuracy and product quality.
Manufacturing Support
  • Analyze customer specifications to determine tooling, mold materials, and product materials.
  • Assist in determining whether tooling should be produced internally or outsourced.
  • Generate material and labor estimates, obtain quotes, and track lead times.
  • Support fabrication operations with part layouts, fixture drawings, jig designs, and production documentation.
  • Assist with CNC programming and manufacturing layouts as needed.
Process Improvement
  • Research and develop new manufacturing methods and tooling solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate ways to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to support company goals.
Quality Assurance
  • Support and maintain quality management processes and documentation.
  • Work directly with customers to ensure quality expectations are met.
  • Assist in resolving product and process quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality records, reports, and documentation.
  • Manage quality-related processes including document control, inspections, corrective actions, and returns analysis.
  • Monitor quality trends and recommend improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and product performance.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and manufacturing processes.
