Job description

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong critical thinking and communication skills to secure, optimize, and manage our enterprise M365 environment.

This role will focus on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Teams collaboration technologies within a secure, compliance-driven environment. 

The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the IT team and effectively manage multiple priorities to meet required deadlines. They will have the ability to play a key role in modernizing collaboration, strengthening endpoint security, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment. 

What You Will Be Doing: 

The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the IT team and effectively manage multiple priorities to meet required deadlines. Responsibilities will include some or all of the following: 

  • Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Entra ID. 
  • Design, implement, and manage SharePoint Online architecture including site collections, hub sites, permissions models, document libraries, retention policies, and governance controls. 
  • Lead Microsoft Teams administration including policies, external collaboration, Teams lifecycle management, and integration with SharePoint and OneDrive. 
  • Manage and secure endpoints using Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, conditional access integration, and mobile application management (MAM). 
  • Implement and manage Conditional Access policies and Zero Trust security principles using Microsoft Entra ID in both cloud-only and hybrid environments. 
  • Administer identity services including Entra ID, hybrid identity integrations with Active Directory, SAML-based SSO integrations, and role-based access control (RBAC). 
  • Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph to streamline M365 administration, reporting, and compliance enforcement. 
  • Implement data governance, retention, DLP, eDiscovery, and sensitivity labeling policies to support CMMC and other regulatory compliance requirements. 
  • Monitor tenant health, security posture, and user activity using Microsoft security and compliance tools. 
  • Support secure collaboration across GCC High environments as required. 
  • Design and implement configuration changes to align with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements and other federal compliance frameworks. 
  • Provide user guidance and technical leadership for collaboration best practices and secure information sharing.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline) from an accredited institution, or 5+ years of comparable professional experience.
  • Experience with administration and maintenance of Microsoft 365 services including (but not limited to) SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune, Exchange Online, and Entra ID in cloud or hybrid environments. 
  • Experience managing identity and access controls in hybrid Microsoft environments (Entra ID and Active Directory). 
  • Ability to work as part of a team that shares and documents knowledge.  
  • Strong written and communication skills. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*. 

Preferred, but not required, experience in the following: 

  • Possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*. 
  • Possess a cloud certification. 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 in GCC High environments. 
  • Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, or other DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks. 
  • Experience migrating on-premises collaboration or file services to SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams. 
  • Experience developing automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
