WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The IT Support Technician will work various shifts supporting multiple locations across the United States. The users you will be supporting utilize technologies that include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Office, Windows End Points, RF and mobile Devices, and Network-Attached Printers. The IT Support Technician will also be responsible for level one application support, working independently and following the department SOPs and guidelines.

  • Provide users with technical support, responding to their needs and questions working independently under the department guidelines and SOPs.
  • Work with IT Infrastructure teams to support the rollout of new end user technology initiatives, office moves and technology enhancements.
  • Respond to technical emergencies and prioritize support calls efficiently and effectively.
  • Continuously maintain, update, and improve the documentation and SOPs for end user technologies.
  • Problem isolation and diagnosis for all desktops, some server and network problems
  • Perform Windows desktop systems support.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, software tools, AD basic user security set-up, and Exchange accounts.
  • Provide tier-one technical LAN support.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technologies
  • Back up the Service Desk during high-volume situations.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC Hardware (Desktop/Laptop troubleshooting & diagnostics)
  • Knowledge of PC best practices for preventative maintenance
  • Experience with PC peripheral troubleshooting & diagnostics
  • Knowledge of Anti-Virus product support (virus and spy-ware cleaning)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and MSO365.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal language skills)
  • Good documentation skills (ability to enter detailed information clearly and concisely into a ticketing application)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Analysis & Decision-making skills (ability to make sound independent judgments, e.g. when to escalate user issues)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Team player (experienced working as part of a Customer Support/Help Desk Team)
  • Proven analytical and hardware/software troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong work ethic and initiative “go-getter” attitude 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of Desktop Support/IT Service Desk/Help Desk experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing desktop, help desk, or technical support. 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications. 
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues. 
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of IT support experience in manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or distribution environment. 
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or related certifications. 
  • Experience supporting ERP systems, warehouse technologies, handheld devices, and manufacturing equipment. 
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft Intune, and endpoint management tools. 
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and security awareness are best practices. 
  • Experience supporting cloud-based applications and services.
  • Outlook/Exchange account creation
  • Proficient in using the iVanti or other similar ISM tools.
  • Familiar with Ivanti or similar end point management tools
  • Experience with Apple laptops a plus
  • Prior experience with mobile device support (Tablets, iPad, iPhone, Android) a plus
  • Prior experience with Kronos, Oracle, JDE, or Red Prairie a plus
  • IT Asset management experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment, warehouse, and field environments with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate office equipment requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in an upright position walking on both even and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel on a regular basic

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

Shift 1 – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well.
