SUMMARY OBJECTIVE Hiring range is negotiable between $67,902.62 and $88,273.40 depending on a candidate's qualifications and experience The purpose of this position is to performs technical work in the planning, coordination, installation, maintenance and operations of PCs and laptops. Responsible for the training and support of computers and associated peripheral equipment and software. Provides technical and application support to computer users in both network and independent environments

This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues for all City employees. Configures a variety of computers, peripherals, user accounts, mobile devices, and installs software and updates as needed. Assists with maintenance of VOIP system, including configuring users, phones, and call groups.

Maintains daily activity in ticket tracking system; providing detailed documentation for all tickets resolved. Helps setup and configure a variety of technical devices in meeting spaces around the City. Mounts outdoor wireless Access Points and Cameras.

Runs audio and visual equipment for biweekly City Council meetings and other special events. Runs and splices fiber cabling. Installs new network locations including cabling and server rack mounting.

Performs related work as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES Knowledge of hardware, software and network concepts. Knowledge of the techniques used in installing hardware and software.

Understanding a variety of mobile devices including smart phones and tablets. Familiarity with Active Directory. Ability to work independently and to recognize, analyze, and solve complex problems as it relates to computers systems.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Products, including but not limited to Windows OS and Microsoft Office Professional. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline.

Three years of technology support or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. Possession of an MTA or A+ Certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
