Position Summary

Summit Federal Services, LLC (SFS) is a woman‑owned Small Business and HUBZone company providing acquisition, business process, training, IT, administrative and security services to federal agencies. We seek a Senior Principal Network and Services Systems Engineer to support the CBL Battle Lab Facility at Fort Gordon, GA. The role will lead the design, implementation, and sustainment of complex enterprise and mission‑critical network infrastructures and service platforms, ensuring performance, security, reliability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities Network Architecture & Engineering
  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise‑scale network architectures.
  • Lead engineering efforts across LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, cloud networking, data center, and hybrid environments.
  • Develop network modernization and transformation strategies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements.
  • Create detailed network design documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications.
Systems & Services Engineering
  • Architect and integrate network services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM, directory services, load balancing, VPN, authentication, and network monitoring platforms.
  • Ensure interoperability across systems, applications, and infrastructure components.
  • Develop automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Security & Compliance
  • Align network and services architectures with cybersecurity requirements.
  • Implement security controls and best practices based on industry frameworks.
  • Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and risk management activities.

Technical Leadership
  • Serve as SME for networking and infrastructure technologies.

Operations & Performance
  • Analyze network performance and capacity requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise‑scale networks.
  • Strong understanding of Routing and Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP); Network Security; Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); Data Center Technologies; Virtualization Platforms; Automation and Orchestration Tools.
  • Experience with network monitoring and performance management solutions.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
