Job description

The role

As a Systems Engineer (SysAdmin/IT Software Support), you will support the Development Platform by administering critical systems, infrastructure, and applications. Your responsibilities will include providing secure access to key developer systems and services and delivering solutions for engineers that reduce their cognitive load and enhance their developer experience. You will implement secure and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions and enable AI capabilities that achieve successful business outcomes for Seequent.



In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Administer critical development tools like JIRA, GitHub, and JFrog Artifactory.

  • Automate solutions to grant required system access to various users according to established permission structures.

  • Administer primary cloud infrastructure services like storage and key vaults.

  • Use scripting languages like PowerShell and/or Python to automate tasks.

  • Work with other Systems Engineers to guide engineering on best practices and approaches to solving infrastructure and systems related problems.

  • Propose cost-efficient and fit-for-purpose tools and applications.

  • Promote a culture of automation over manual solutions.

  • Work with Systems Engineers and other teams to plan migration and other complex projects.


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years working in roles like Sysadmin and/or IT Software Support.

  • Experience with the following tools and systems: Atlassian, GitHub, Slack, Cloudflare, and Artifactory.

  • Experience working with a major cloud provider, preferably Google Cloud Platform.

  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

  • Skilled in cloud-based technologies.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams across time zones.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and build sustainable working relationships.
