Description
Summary
Individual supports the U.S Air Force and contractor personnel under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II, at various facilities on the Nevada Test and Training Range and Nellis Air Force Base. IntegrITS Corporation develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. A Systems Administrator III evaluates system specifications, configures computer systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware / software compatibility, maintains hardware and software for various servers, workstations and printers, troubleshoots and resolves simple to complex system problems or issues, and politely interacts with end-users providing appropriate support and assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform System Administration functions such as user account maintenance, application and OS patching and updates, antivirus updates, security/event log review and analysis, network documentation, data backup operations, troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution for hardware and software, documentation and coordination of incidents or reported problems, and user support and training.
• Performs design, installation, configuration and maintenance of primarily MS Windows server and client systems ensuring operational capability and stability, system security, integrity of access controls, backup and disaster recovery operations.
• Makes recommendations for future hardware / software implementations and related process improvements. Schedules, plans and performs system upgrades including the transition from design, test, production and documentation environments.
• Specifies network requirements, monitors LAN performance, troubleshoots networking hardware and ensures systems are working properly according to specifications and parameters.
• Organizes and secures directory structure, performs routine account updates and maintenance, assists / trains staff members in configuration and utilization of department resources.
• Maintains and utilizes document management systems, work tracking systems, associated databases and CM/DM release procedures.
• Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution.
• Serves as POC for problem reporting, incremental version updates and monitors yearly support contracts.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security practices, Auditing, RMF, STIGs, SCAP, and ACAS.
• Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation.
• Exercises discretion and independent judgement in representing and/or resolving matters of significance on behalf of the customer.
• Individual reports to an exempt onsite manager responsible for the IT Support Team operations.
• There is occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal as well constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
Required Qualifications
• Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training.
• Possess 7 years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise.
• Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
• Employee is expected to routinely cross fields in the completion of somewhat difficult and varied assignments.
• Candidate must possess excellent customer service and appropriate interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within structured guidelines.
• Must possess verbal and written communication skills sufficient to permit interaction with other employees as well as taking work direction from Senior Systems Administrators or Supervisors.
• Requires limited to no supervision.
• Individual must have a broad working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
• Ability to obtain CompTIA Security + Certification within 6 months.
• Must be able to successfully pass the required drug test.
• SECRET Security Clearance (required).
