Position Overview

The Research Scientist, with limited guidance from more experienced scientists, works individually and in collaboration with others on multiple projects which are moderate to complex in scope. The Research Scientist plays an active role in planning projects and experiments and is often the technical lead responsible for the successful execution of the project.  This position involves independently making detailed observations, analyzing data and interpreting results.  Working in a team setting, the Research Scientist, will primarily be involved in Research and Development projects serving as a technical lead in translating research ideas and concepts into the product development pipeline towards development of diagnostic assay products.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Independently designs, executes, and analyzes moderately complex experiments; develops solutions for technical challenges and validates new methodologies.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert within assigned product or technology area(s), mentoring less experienced scientists or associates.
  • Integrates project results into broader research objectives; prepares and reviews technical reports and presents findings to project teams and leadership.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of scientific literature, technological advances, and industry standards relevant to assigned research.
  • Contributes to protocol/procedure development, process improvement, and relevant regulatory compliance and quality standards.
  • Effectively collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across projects, ensuring alignment with business and scientific goals.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds within the typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to complete fine finger manipulation (e.g., picking, pinching, etc.) and twisting at wrist motions 50% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in a field related to essential duties; or Master’s degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of PhD; or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of PhD.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing complex experiments, performing quantitative data analysis, and interpreting results to guide next-phase studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary Range:

$91,000.00 - $155,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
