Job description

What you will be doing:

As an IT Field Support Specialist (Imaging) at Independent Software, you will play a critical role in ensuring our enterprise computing environment is fully operational and secure. Your primary responsibility will be deploying and configuring computer systems through Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) servers, managing both new deployments and the reimaging of recycled workstations.

You will fulfill daily imaging and hardware requests, meticulously preparing each device with the latest operating system images, necessary software, and security configurations to meet organizational standards. Beyond imaging, your duties will include installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining communications equipment and peripheral devices, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational readiness throughout the enterprise.

Working closely with IT teams and end-users, you will provide timely support and updates to help maintain system integrity and optimize performance. Your contributions will directly support the productivity of the workforce and the overall mission success of Independent Software.
Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Deploy computer images using MDT and configure workstations based on established priorities
  • Fulfill hardware requests and ensure equipment is ready for end-user deployment
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing systems
  • Train onsite personnel in the use of imaging tools and deployment best practices
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and test various IT hardware, including fiber optic modems and Ethernet/telephone systems
  • Maintain image benches and promptly notify management if functionality is lost
  • Support remote users and resolve issues efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Interpret and apply technical documentation, manuals, and schematics
  • Follow Active Directory policies and maintain compliance with imaging and security protocols

Required Skills & Qualifications:
 
  • Proven expertise in imaging and troubleshooting Windows-based systems (Windows 7/10)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Strong understanding of antivirus and patch management
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Active Directory environments and group policies
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a company vehicle
  • Availability to work an assigned 8-hour shift between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, as designated by management
Education and Experience:
 
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant IT support or imaging experience
Certifications:
 
  • Must meet DoD 8570 certification requirements; Security+
Clearance Requirement:
 
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
