Position summary

Those who apply must have an ACTIVE Public Trust or higher clearance to qualify.

This position provides infrastructure support for enterprise Windows environments, cloud services, and network security systems.

The role reports to the IT Operations Manager and functions as a system owner, works on project and operational tasks, and as Tier 2 support, handling both reactive troubleshooting and proactive systems administration.

This is an individual contributor role focused on hands-on technical work with opportunities to develop deep expertise in systems administration and cybersecurity fundamentals, and to learn new technology.

The role is primarily on site, and client facing, requiring the ability to work within a diverse team and communicate effectively with the client and end users.

This role is contingent upon client approval.

What will you do in this role?

  • Windows Server Administration: Manage on-premises and hybrid Windows Server environments, including user account administration, group policy management, file sharing, backup verification, and routine server maintenance.
  • Windows Workstation Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 workstations; manage driver updates, application deployment, and endpoint compliance.
  • Computer Imaging & Gold Images: Be able to build and maintain Windows gold images; conduct system imaging for new deployments and refreshes; troubleshoot imaging failures.
  • Vulnerability Management: Execute vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows; assist with patch deployment using Windows Update and third-party patch management tools; track remediation progress and document closure.
  • Azure Cloud Operations: Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments; manage VM provisioning, patching, and troubleshooting; maintain Azure infrastructure supporting Windows Server and workstations.
  • Third-Party Application Management: Monitor and manage licensed applications; coordinate software updates, license compliance, and retirement; troubleshoot application conflicts. Work with vendors for troubleshooting of technical and license issues, escalating promptly to mitigate progress interruptions.
  • Tier 2 Deskside Support: Escalated user support for complex technical issues; remote troubleshooting; occasional on-site visits for hardware replacement and configuration issues.
  • Documentation & Communication: Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and procedural changes; provide clear handoff notes to team; escalate issues with full context when needed.
  • Finesse Unified Works (UWF) Administration: Manage Finesse UWF application configurations and integrations with Cisco UCCX contact center systems; process workflow change requests from the business; configure and troubleshoot application functionality; document configuration changes.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Must be a United States Citizen ***
  • Must have an ACTIVE Public Trust or higher clearance to qualify ***
  • This is a hybrid position working 3 days a week in Washington, DC. ***
  • 3+ year hands-on IT support or systems administration experience.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS, etc.).
  • Experience with system imaging or deployment tools, Intune, SCCM, WSUS.
  • Exposure to Azure or similar cloud platforms.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification (or in progress).
  • Familiarity with AI tools, Copilot Chat and 365, Claude, Codex, Qwen, Gemini, etc.
  • Understanding of automation, scripted via PowerShell or python, or with tools such as Power Automate or UI Path.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $65,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
