Job Overview: The CAD designer is responsible for creating , modifying, and managing detailed technical drawings and 3D models from initial concepts, sketches, and specifications. The candidate plays a crucial role in the creation of tooling, fixtures, and gauges used in our remanufacturing processes. This role requires seamless collaboration to collectively brainstorm, design, and machine solutions to improve production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop a variety of remanufacturing aids, including jigs, fixtures, gauges, carts, and racks, using industry-standard CAD software
  • Create accurate, complete, and concise 2D and 3D design models, detailed blueprints, and technical drawings for fabrication.
  • Work closely with engineers, production managers, and machinists to understand project requirements, gather specifications, and ensure designs are functional and manufacturable.
  • Analyze existing tooling and processes to identify faults and opportunities for improvement, implementing design changes to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials and perform cost analysis and estimate material requirements for new designs.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, organize drawing files, and ensure all work adheres to company, industry, and safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or certification in computer-aided design, drafting, or a related technical field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software, such as Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor is essential.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Designer or similar role in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in designing production tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills to address complex design challenges.
