About the role The Information Technology Intern โ€“ Level 1 Help Desk provides entryโ€level technical support to end users by assisting with basic hardware, software, and accountโ€related issues. This position supports daily help desk operations while providing handsโ€on experience in troubleshooting, customer service, and IT support processes. What you'll do Respond to and document help desk tickets and service requests. Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues. Assist with password resets, account access, and user support. Set up and deploy workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT staff. Maintain accurate inventory and support documentation. Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security practices. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Basic knowledge of computer hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, and Microsoft 365 applications. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to learn technical processes quickly and work under supervision. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems, Active Directory, and remote support tools. Basic understanding of networking, device setup, and troubleshooting. Prior coursework, lab work, or internship experience in IT support.
