We are headquartered in Boston, MA with business operations around the world, including Asia, India, Europe, and Latin America.


CNE Direct, Inc. is also engaged in the business of wholesale distribution of technology equipment including computers, computer components and peripherals, networking and telecommunications hardware, and other electronic products. We obtain supply on consignment and through direct purchase from end users, large manufacturers (OEMs), and distributors who find themselves with excess inventory. We re-sell those products to end users, other OEMs, distributors, resellers, and brokers worldwide.


Position Summary:

The Junior Engineer supports the engineering team in the design, testing, and improvement of hardware and system processes. This role assists in analyzing data, troubleshooting hardware, maintaining systems, and supporting the implementation of engineering projects. The Junior Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and management to ensure systems run efficiently, data is accurate, and equipment meets company and client standards. Please note that this position is fully on-site at our Groveport, OH warehouse.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support engineering projects including equipment testing, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related equipment.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data for ongoing projects and performance tracking.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including inspection records, work instructions, and system logs.
  • Support the development and testing of prototypes, proof of concepts, and software scripts.
  • Conduct basic data recovery and participate in disaster recovery testing as directed.
  • Identify potential hardware or software issues and escalate to senior engineers as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Adhere to company standards and policies including environmental, quality, EH&S, and data security practices.
  • Assist with computer hardware testing, data security, and imaging within the lab environment.
  • Maintain and protect CNE Direct assets including tools, test equipment, and client property.
  • Perform other special projects assigned by the Engineer or Director of Operations.


Candidate Requirements:

  • 13 years of experience in an engineering, technical, or data-driven role (internship experience acceptable).
  • Associate or bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems, hardware, and data management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
