Job Overview

The  Azure Infrastructure & Hardware Engineering Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing support of enterprise IT infrastructure spanning onpremises, cloud, and productbased environments. This role provides handson support for organizational IT services, cloud platforms, networking, and hardware systems while ensuring security, regulatory, and audit compliance. The Specialist administers Microsoft and Azure services, manages licensing and vendor relationships, supports internal teams and external customers, and serves as a technical liaison across product, development, and operations functions. Additionally, the role oversees product hardware platforms, operating systems, and ancillary development tools, contributing to scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that support both employee productivity and customer deployments.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Organizational IT Services and Support:

Provide employee computer/hardware support, assignment, acquisition, licensing, role/permission provisioning, review/approval, and documentation ensuring audit compliance.

Manage internet services, remote VPN access/configuration, file services/backup, audit logging, and system/application logging and documentation.

Configure and manage network and firewall, access control, and security role provisioning/authorization.

Administer MS Office/Office 365, SharePoint (permissions and role assignments), Visual Studio, Dynamics CRM, and other application services.

Manage Microsoft MPSA and SPLA licensing and facilitate procurement of development and product-testing tools.

Provide cross-departmental product and development technical support (System Health, Product, Cockpit, Portal, RV, SQL, Interface, Sales, Implementation) and act as technical liaison for related issues.

Telcom management - company cell phones, Vonage business and Talis support line.

Building services coordination - door access, alarms, cameras, fire-department inspections, vendor coordination for fire-suppression/safety equipment testing and compliance documentation.

Cloud Solutions Support:

Manage configuration and troubleshoot Network, SQL, Firewall, AV/malware/IDS, policy- and route-based VPNs (Azure Gateway), cloud PEER and VNET services.

Manage Cloud Domain/Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy modeling, authentication and RBAC enforcement.

Administer Azure portal services: VM load balancing, scale sets, PowerShell/Cloud Shell, Linux/Ubuntu and Kubernetes deployments.

Provision, install and configure Microsoft Server resources to run the Talis solution in a hybrid local / cloud environment.

Maintain, patch and troubleshoot business and customer-facing applications (Windows Server, Terminal Server, print services, Microsoft Server, DevOps/TFS).

Collaborate on topology design and product deployment to ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance prior to rollout.

Provide cloud services support: licensing compliance, HADR deployment, capacity planning/scaling, resource deployment, routing/firewall, load balancing, DNS, Public SSL acquisition, pricing/budgeting, and service billing (e.g., Twilio, SendGrid).

Ongoing management of subscribed cloud services: patching, licensing, access authorization, role assignments and upkeep for Talisclinical.com, DevOps, PowerBI, Dynamics, Warehouse (SSRS) and Azure BI.

Customer deployment and ongoing support: security assessments, customer IT/security presentations, weekly progress meetings, firewall/NAT and B2B VPN/proxy testing/implementation, and technical liaison for customer issues.

Hardware, Ancillary Development Tools, and Product O/S Responsibilities:

Talis product hardware platform and peripheral devices (AIMS/PIMS/RV) - vendor management, workstation hardware pricing negotiation, demo system hardware management, internal team hardware specifications consultation and acquisition

Research and develop product mounting solutions in compliance with industry standards

Talis product O/S platform (AIMS/PIMS/RV) - Stratodesk vendor management and licensing, Thin Client configuration and firmware updates/patching, and acquisition of thirdparty software development tools including product-specific API tools and licensed utilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5-10 years' experience in Information Technology
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required. An equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant handson experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Understanding of Disaster Recovery, Clone, Backup, Snapshot, and Restoration concepts
  • Proficient in networking concepts - DNS, NAT, TCP/IP, etc.
  • Experience with networking security concepts
  • Experience with cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS) and data center technologies
  • Preferred Certifications or equivalent Azure management/architectural experience:
    • Azure Fundamentals
    • Azure Solutions Architect
    • Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • DS Internal Staff, and other ACT Product Areas, Conduct product installation workshops and technical Q&A sessions for customers

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended or weekend hours during peak business cycles, system upgrades or emergencies
  • The role may require standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and the ability to work in confined or underdesk spaces to install, maintain, or troubleshoot hardware and network equipment. The employee must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to approximately 35 pounds. The position requires manual dexterity to handle tools, cables, and electronic components, as well as the ability to use computer and telephone equipment for extended periods of time.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

The salary range for this position is between $81,000-$120,000 per year, with an 8% STIP bonus, depending on experience and location.
