Engineering Technician

Location: Melbourne, FL
Department: Engineering

Build. Test. Troubleshoot. Improve.

Contec is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support the development, testing, and validation of industrial computer systems and embedded technologies.

In this role, you'll work alongside engineers to build computer platforms, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, execute test plans, and help bring new products from development into production. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines including hardware integration, operating systems, product validation, manufacturing support, and technical documentation.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy understanding how technology works, solving technical problems, and working in a collaborative engineering environment.


What You'll Do
  • Build, configure, test, and document computer platforms during product development
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues during development and validation
  • Execute test plans and document results
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Create and maintain software images for specific hardware configurations
  • Develop work instructions, engineering notes, and technical documentation
  • Support engineering and manufacturing teams during product introduction and production ramp-up
  • Assist with automated manufacturing test configurations and scripts
  • Identify opportunities for product, process, and quality improvements
  • Work within project schedules and defined scopes of work
