Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and test the design of production machinery and will identify, recommend and implement solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling needed for safe and efficient manufacturing systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborates with production personnel and senior leadership to design cost‑effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for tools and machines used to manufacture products.
  • Reviews production program equipment, hardware, and tooling; makes recommendations for repairs or replacement.
  • Develops new processes, methods, and production controls.
  • Installs new equipment and ensures that it operates correctly; trains others to operate new machinery.
  • Prepares operations manuals for new or existing equipment.
  • Develops control systems and monitors production.
  • Maintains knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; applies this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
  • Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
  • Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
  • Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
