Raytheon is seeking a Senior Hardware Lab Lead to manage and implement environmental test projects, as well as oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of multiple engineering and environmental test labs. This role will focus on ensuring safety, security, and compliance in alignment with established doctrine and governance. You will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In this position, you must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes.

What You Will Do

  • Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies.
  • Management, coordination, and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure company and customer owned property is properly tracked, managed, and calibrated.
  • Maintain and improve the lab access list and training matrices, ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared.
  • Uphold company policies and practices to ensure compliance and provide a safe and secure lab environment.
  • Take a proactive role in developing, understanding, and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics.
  • Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to team members and management.
  • Oversee audit assessment preparation; Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Factory & Lab Assessment reviews; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives.
  • Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation.
  • Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct by exhibiting respect and ethical behavior to serve as a positive role model within the organization.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years’ prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing safety, compliance, and processes in an Engineering or similar environment.
  • Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with chemical handling, metrology, and property control requirements and processes.
  • Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations
  • Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management
  • Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination
  • Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Exemplary oral communication and interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Leadership behaviors and willingness to make decisions and embrace change.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
