Job Description/Duties:
Monrovia in Dayton, Oregon is currently looking for an Undergraduate Internship Craftsman. This position involves working intensely with all departments developing knowledge and fostering experience for future full-time employment opportunities. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work on projects and visit other nursery related operations at the direction of the Regional Sales Coach.
It is also the responsibility of this Craftsman to adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure, and confidential working environment in all aspects of our production. Continual improvement on processes and ideas for efficiencies are strongly encouraged. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with reasonable accommodations, to support the Monrovia Nursery organization.
Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in an accredited institution pursuing a degree in Horticulture or related field.
  • Strong computer skills are required, with MS Office familiarity highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds repeatedly, 65 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds with help.
  • Able to carry out movements and repetitive tasks during an 8-10-hour workday which includes but not limited to grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, squatting, twisting, standing, walking for long periods of time, and lifting above shoulders.
  • Must be able to work under inclement weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be available to work Monday- Friday- 7:30am to 4pm, with additional hours as necessary.

Compensation:
