Job description

Your Role

Gensler's Silicon Valley office is seeking an Experiential Graphic Designer with a passion for helping clients communicate their stories through immersive, multi-channel experiences across today's diverse media landscape. This role centers on the ability to deeply understand a client's brand and translate it into compelling expressions through graphic design, spatial environments, and technology. We are looking for a creative and motivated designer who is passionate about learning, collaboration, and bringing thoughtful, experience-driven design to a wide range of project types.

You will join a collaborative studio of designers, architects, strategists, digital experience experts, and storytellers who partner with clients across a broad spectrum of industries. Our work spans environmental graphics and campus signage systems to brand identity, placemaking, and communications strategy.

As experience designers at Gensler, we help clients tell their unique stories through a range of media, with a focus on spatial and environmental design. Our approach integrates design and architectural expertise with a distinct point of view and strong storytelling capabilities-resulting in brands that build trust, inspire confidence, and create lasting connections.

This role is intended for a designer who integrates AI tools as a core component of their creative workflow-not simply as an add-on. Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate AI-driven processes, exploration, and outputs within their portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • As an Experiential Graphic Designer, you willbe responsible forthe design of a wide variety of graphics, branded environments, and wayfinding projects

  • You will work as a key partner on fast-paced interdisciplinary teams of architects, interior designers, graphic designers, illustrators, motion graphic/animators, and more that deliver projects ranging from strategic planning to corporate and retail interiors to sports arenas and mixed-use developments

  • You will deliver creative solutions in a diverse range of markets including workplace, hospitality, retail, sports, aviationand digital channels

  • You willleverageAI design tools (FLUX-based and diffusion model workflows via the firm's RunDiffusion platform) to accelerate iteration cycles, expand creative output per engagement, anddemonstrateAI-assisted production processes to interdisciplinary project teams

  • You will contribute to team fluency development by documenting AI workflow approaches, sharing prompt strategies, andparticipatingin studio-wide AI practice initiatives

  • Design web and digital interfaces for client-facing applications, campaign microsites, and digital experience platforms: translate brand systems into responsive, screen-based environments that extend the physical design narrativeinto digital channels

  • Produce video content to elevate client presentations: edit and assemble compelling visual narratives that communicate design intent, sequence spatial experiences, and bring projects to life for client audiences. Video skills may also apply to experiential installations where the project scope calls for it

Your Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of experience in Graphic Design, Experiential Design or Environmental Graphic Design with a professional degree in Industrial Design, GraphicDesignor a related field

  • Exceptional design sense with the ability to integrate messaging, color, imagery, and typography into print, digital, and three-dimensional built environments

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce production-ready artwork, including file handoff for large-format output: substrate specs, bleed, color profiles, and fabricator-ready formats

  • Proficiencydrawing in scale and familiarity with architectural construction documents, elevations, plans, and shop drawings

  • Excellent communication skills when working with clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, whileremainingefficient, poised, communicative and organized

  • Flexibility to work both collaboratively and independently on projects of all scales and types

  • Proficiencyin the latest design software including Adobe Creative Suite, CAD Tools, andAI visualization platformssuch asFLUX-based and diffusion model pipelines via enterprise platformsincludingRunDiffusion; Adobe Firefly experience also valued. Not just awareness, butdemonstrateduse in an active workflow

  • Portfolio must include AI-assisted projects with explanation of workflow: what was prompted, what was refined by hand, and why. Portfolios thatdemonstrateAI-integrated workflows will be prioritized

  • Ability to articulate design decisions made with and without AIassistance, including where AI accelerates quality, where it introduces risk, and how you applied judgment to each

  • Portfolio must demonstrate at least one design system you authored: brand standards, wayfinding logic, or component architecture. Not just assets produced within an existing system. Show the rules, not just the output

  • Proficiencyin After Effects or equivalent motion tools for digital signage and animated environmental elements; Rive or Lottie familiarity a plus for interactive wayfinding applications. Video editingproficiency(Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve)required; primary application is client presentation production, with potential extension to experiential installations on select project
