Job description

Position Title: CAD Designer
Location: Miami Office – In-office with occasional travel to other sites
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $55,000 – $75,000 annually

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Position Overview

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating high-quality engineering plans utilizing AutoCAD 3D. The AutoCAD designer needs to follow the company AutoCAD standards and will take directions from the direct supervisor, the project lead, the engineer of record, and the CAD Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by engineers and designers and make modifications to existing drawings.
  • Use a variety of CAD software programs to create designs in 2D and 3D models.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians.
  • Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings.
  • Ensure drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols.
  • Quantify the volume of materials identified in design drawings.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys when required.
  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installation.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A high school diploma is required. Enrollment in an associate degree program in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in the field of design.
