Job description

Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer
Location: West Columbia, SC
Job Description: Conduct subsurface investigations, including hand auger borings, field drilling observations, and field testing. Perform laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, and construction materials. Perform geotechnical engineering analyses using both manual calculations and advanced computer software. These analyses will cover driven pile and drilled shaft design capacities, development of pile driving criteria, slope stability evaluations, seepage analysis for dams and levees, liquefaction analysis, seismic response analysis, and settlement determination. Conduct field and laboratory testing to determine site-specific seismic site classifications including cone penetration testing (CPT), development of shear wave velocity profiles, evaluation of liquefaction potential, and analysis of post-seismic slope stability. Support a variety of projects in the private sector, including transportation, mining, power and energy, and dams. Participate in new Seismic Design and Earthquake Engineering Practice Group.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering plus 1 year of experience as a Senior Staff Engineer or any related occupation
