Job description

We are designing the grid of the future!

Join our innovative team as an Engineering Drafter, where you will play a key role in producing and coordinating detailed engineering CAD deliverables for electrical infrastructure projects, including but not limited to generation plants and substations. This position is remote and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams and construction stakeholders to deliver accurate, code-compliant, and construction-ready engineering packages.

How you can make an impact:

  • Detailed Engineering Drafting: Develop and review detailed engineering drawings and documentation for electrical generation facilities, including site plans, single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, electrical details, electrical notes, schematics, panel views, cable and conduit schedules, equipment layouts, and grounding plans using AutoCAD and/or CAD-based design platforms.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with lead engineers, project managers, and discipline leads to ensure drawing packages are technically accurate, internally consistent, and aligned with applicable standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC) and client specifications.
  • Project Support: Support engineering design from conceptual through IFC (Issued for Construction) phases, incorporating review comments, RFI responses, and field markups into drawing revisions.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Interface with civil/structural, mechanical, and protection & controls disciplines to resolve design conflicts and ensure coordination across drawing sets.
  • Documentation & Document Control: Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and deliverable trackers in alignment with project schedules and document control protocols.

Performance Criteria:

  • Timely and accurate production of detailed engineering drawing packages across all project phases.
  • Effective incorporation of review comments and field feedback into drawing revisions.
  • Consistent coordination across disciplines and clear communication with project teams.
  • Adherence to applicable engineering standards, client specifications, and internal QA/QC procedures.

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD platform).
  • Familiarity with electrical generation systems and standard drawing types (SLDs, schematics, layouts).
  • Advanced proficiency in English.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to utility-scale generation technologies: solar PV, BESS, wind, or conventional generation.
  • Familiarity with utility and interconnection drawing requirements (e.g., POI packages, protection & metering one-lines).
  • Experience with document management platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, SharePoint).
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards applicable to electrical generation facilities.
  • Basic understanding of structural and civil concepts related to electrical design.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation
