Company in Northern Kentucky looking for a Process Computer Engineer.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for providing professional systems engineering service and technical support to Maintenance and Operation departments for the re-design, modification, re-engineering and retro-fitting of level 2 equipment and systems to improve quality and productivity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Analyzes and defines level 2 equipment problems to improve quality and productivity, repair damaged equipment, improve systems performance, and improve production line up-time.

* Re-designs and re-engineers Level 2 systems that need upgrading, are poorly designed or incorrectly used in order to improve quality and productivity.

* Investigates and analyzes Level 2 systems problems, defines and scopes projects, writes engineering reports, makes cost estimates, obtains bids, obtains approval to purchase necessary equipment materials, and works with Maintenance, Operations and plant personnel to retro-fit and install.

* Regularly monitors process systems data collection and archiving to ensure data integrity.

* Remains abreast of the latest process systems technologies, including: hardware, software, analysis, and design.

* Helps maintain adequate spare parts for critical process systems hardware and peripherals.

* Keeps abreast of new equipment and techniques by reading appropriate journals; associating with professional organizations, trade associations, colleagues, equipment vendors, service companies, consultants, and government agencies; and attending conferences, training courses, and continuing education courses as appropriate.

* Writes, modifies, tests and documents application programs to meet programming specifications.

* Works in tandem with other Level 2 Engineers and has freedom of contact throughout the company on Operations and Maintenance engineering activities, particularly with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance Personnel.

* Customer Service - Manages difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments. Consults with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.

* Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to other's views; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.

* Change Management - Develops workable implementation plans; communicate changes effectively; monitors transition and evaluates results.

* Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.

* Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

* Bachelor's/Technical 

* Experienced in C, C++, and C#

* Familiar with COM and .NET Framework

* Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concepts

* Familiar with Client/Server application development

* Familiar with SQL Server and Oracle Databases

Bottom Line Requirements:


1. Bachelor's or Technical Degree preferred. 

2. Experienced in C# preferred. C and C++ acceptable. 

3. Familiar with COM and .NET Framework.

4. Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concepts and familiar with Client Server application development.

5. Experience with SQL Server and Oracle Databases.

6. Experience in an industrial setting preferred.
