Position Description:
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for 2 part-time or full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) or Visiting (Non-Tenure) positions at the (visiting) lecturer, (visiting) senior lecturer, (visiting) principal lecturer, (visiting) instructional assistant professor, (visiting) instructional associate professor, (visiting) instructional professor, (visiting) associate professor of the practice, (visiting) professor of the practice levels with the titles and ranks depending on background, qualifications, and experience with a 4.5-month or 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning in fall 2026, or spring 2027.
Successful applicants will be responsible for the organization, delivery, evaluation and assessment of engineering technology courses and student outcomes associated with those courses. Courses include, but may not be limited to, engineering graphics, metallic and nonmetallic materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanics. Successful applicants will also advise and mentor graduate students; develop an independent, externally funded research program (if applicable); participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the profession.
Department Info:
The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution is unique among the 15 departments within the College of Engineering, due to its strong focus on applied research and undergraduate education. The Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution Department blends engineering and business knowledge, methods, and research. This department consists of four distinct undergraduate programs and three graduate programs - two distance education and one resident graduate program. As the largest in student enrollment (~ 2600 undergraduate over 230 graduate students) in the college, the department has 112 faculty members, including 37 tenured/tenure-track and 75 full and part-time academic professional track faculty members to support academic programs in electronic systems engineering technology, multidisciplinary engineering technology, manufacturing and mechanical engineering technology, information technology service management, and industrial distribution. Department research expenditures exceed $12 million annually, supporting areas such as embedded systems, networking, cybersecurity and communication, advanced manufacturing, intelligent product design and development, information technology management, human-computer interaction, robotics and automation, sales management, distribution operations and supply chain management (led by the Thomas and Joan Read Center for Distribution Research and Education), engineering education and workforce development.
In addition to the programs on the College Station campus, the department also has remote programs on branch campus sites.

Qualifications
For appointments at the (Visiting) Lecturer, (Visiting) Senior Lecturer, (Visiting) Principal Lecturer, (Visiting) Instructional Assistant Professor, (Visiting) Instructional Associate Professor, or (Visiting) Instructional Professor level,
Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline in the field in which the faculty member will teach or
  • Master's degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline in the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field

Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or a related field
  • An extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.

There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.
For appointments at the (Visiting) Associate Professor of the Practice or (Visiting) Professor of the Practice level
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline in the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field or
  • An extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years of experience as a practicing engineer

There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.
