Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the design, programming, building and deployment of software applications and systems that support various business and insurance processes.
  • Responsible for driving the implementation of new features and functionalities based on business requirements, enhancing the overall user experience. Ensures seamless integration of new applications with existing systems, minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Oversees software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements
  • Accountable for developing comprehensive technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Leads the collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement integration solutions that enhance data flow and system interoperability.
  • Responsible for enhancing application performance. Oversees continuous performance assessments and ensures improvements are implemented.
  • Provides expert technical support to end-users and team members, addressing and resolving application-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of documentation for troubleshooting procedures and best practices.
  • Fosters a highly collaborative environment among business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Provides regular updates on project status and progress.
  • Continuously identifies and implements process improvements to enhance overall system performance.
  • Oversees strategic planning and execution of process improvements to align application engineering initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • May be responsible for performance and coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Generally, a minimum of 18 years of experience in software engineering and/or application engineering.Scope of Job/Qualifications: Demonstrates advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages. Extensive experience with cloud platforms and modern development frameworks. Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Develops time estimates and other project management elements for highly complex, high-risk project deliverables.Responsible for providing technical expertise across a range of applications, systems and/or technologies. Expert analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot highly complex software issues. Demonstrates expert understanding of machine learning concepts and their software engineering implications. May serve as a Scrum Master or on an agile development team. Provides expert consultancy on the organization's business and technology operations. May serve as a Scrum Master or an active member of an agile development team. Recognized as the company expert.
