Description
Auria is a leading global supplier of highly-engineered systems for automotive flooring, acoustical, thermal, aerodynamic and other fiber-based solutions for gas and electric vehicles. With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide.
We are currently searching for Engineering Intern to join our team at our Sidney Plant in Sidney, Ohio.
Our internship program is designed to give participants the opportunity to jump start their career by working closely with our engineering teams to gain hands on experience. The student will be assigned a specific project as their main focus for the summer and in addition will have the opportunity to help support the plant's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance Teams with meeting all Auria Manufacturing requirements related to safety, processes, equipment capability and reliability, cost, quality, budget improvement and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities, etc.
General Responsibilities:
  • Summer project and presentation
  • Support engineering change requests
  • Participate in cost saving projects and responsible for reporting
  • Assist with product launches to achieve timeline milestones for production
  • Support continuous improvement activities through time study evaluation, machinery implementation, machinery modification, and plant layout design changes.
  • Participate in Kaizen events
  • Learn ways to provide technical support to skilled trades and operations related to downtime and machine throughput issues.
  • Help ensure all contractors are following the plant safety rules.
  • Support required actions based on results from Global Safety Audit
  • Participate in corrective actions in regard to machine safety issues as requested.
  • Other activities as assigned by Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
  • Requires experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Highly motivated
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of departments/functions
  • High level of integrity
  • Priority setting and time management
