Job description

The role of the Engineering Intern is to assist the Engineering Department in the promotion of the safe and efficient maintenance of plant assets. The position will assist in defining, leading, and managing processes and systems to provide proper responses to failures. The position partners with maintenance and operations to ensure quality repairs to maintain equipment health and engineer’s necessary modifications.


Qualifications:

Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.

The candidate will possess the ability to partner with plant engineers, planners, supervisors and technicians – thus, interpersonal communication is critical to success.


Job Duties will include portions of the following:

  • Supports Operations and Maintenance
    • Provide process/equipment troubleshooting.
    • Develop equipment repair plans.
    • Identify and review repair materials and replacement parts.
    • Support crafts as needed to drive precision maintenance.
    • Verification of satisfactory maintenance work & repairs.
    • Define, lead, & coordinate improvement & major maintenance projects
  • Improves Equipment and Process Reliability
    • Update and create equipment drawings.
    • Develop, manage, and improve equipment spare parts & bills of materials.
    • Assist Planning in development of corrective work packages.
    • Develop management processes for tools & equipment.
    • Develop improved maintenance procedures, methods, and testing’s.
    • Support area reliability improvement initiatives.
    • Generate proposals for improvements of processes and equipment.
