This position is in the Reno, NV area.
Job Overview:
In this role, you will work under the guidance of experienced electricians and trainers to learn the basics of electrical systems, safety protocols, and industry standards. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, as well as learning to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about learning and eager to start a rewarding career in the electrical field.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
  • Serves as an ambassador for Rex Moore
  • Prioritizing and planning of assigned service assignments
  • Communicating updates associated with assigned service assignments
  • Escalating problems when appropriate
  • Interacting in a professional manner with customers to foster positive relationships
  • Planning, developing and procuring a complete material list for service assignments
  • Performing surveys on prospective work by collecting information, taking pictures and developing material list
  • Scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime work and callouts are to be expected
  • Perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance to maintain equipment integrity
  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, switch gear and panelboards
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, lighting systems and equipment using testing instruments and equipment

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to environmental conditions inside and outside: inclement weather, cold, heat, and humidity. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Frequently exposed to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, machines, dust and chemicals. May be required to function in crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, and other areas of close proximity. Occasionally required to work on elevated surfaces including on ladders and lifts.

Education, Certifications, Licenses:
  • Electrical trades experience with troubleshooting electrical systems, lighting control systems and other misc. electrical items
  • Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and ability to navigate numerous computer applications and technology independently
  • Ability to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 1 week at a time with short notice and flexibility to work on weekends and overtime
  • Ability to work at heights above 15', work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable and safe driving record
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • Interpretation and application of blueprints, including architectural, civil, and structural prints.
  • Strong communication skills ability to provide and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Effectively communicates technical information with peers, assistants, project supervision & other trades.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all basic aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint, and drawing interpretation & troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative
  • Exhibits high level of organization throughout work tasks.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

  • Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed, important, and accurate instructions to internal and external customers.
