Job Purpose
Responsible for design, development, evaluation, analysis, selecting and ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products and systems. Oversees and manages the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment/processes/systems. Keeps current on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Provides expert technical support to operations and other disciplines within engineering organization. Identifies, develops, recommends, and manages processes needed to produce specific products and components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage approved engineering projects
  • Supports specific production areas with respect to throughput, scrap, quality, ergonomics, staffing and flexibility
  • Develop, implement and manage manufacturing process improvements
  • Provide advanced technical support to maintenance and operations
  • Manage TPPL - Common processes with Newport and Arras

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not a supervisory position, but this person is expected to provide significant guidance and direction to subordinates, as well as guide and coordinate the actions of Enersys Inc. employees and vendors to attain stated objectives.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
7 - 10+ years engineering experience working in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years of direct project management experience.

Mathematical Skills: College level Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry
Reasoning Ability: AdvancedRoot cause and abstract problem solving, visualization and quality tools
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and project management software
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Lean, Six Sigma or project management certificates are desirable
