Job description

SGM is seeking a Survey CAD Technician for our Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Durango, Meeker, or Gunnison, CO office. Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado and want to be part of a high-performing team that will help forward SGM’s mission to make its clients successful by delivering innovative, practical solutions.

Benefits may be prorated for part-time employees. This position will be posted until filled but no sooner than three days from now.

  • Pay is based on experience & qualifications:

Survey Technician II (2 -5 yrs.): $31.70 - $39.75/hr.

Survey Technician III (4 - 10 yrs): $39.75 - $45.40/hr.

Job Duties:

  • Work with Project Managers & Project Surveyors completing a variety of survey drafting tasks to include ISP’s, subdivision plats, Topographic surveys, ALTA, boundary, ROW, and SUE deliverables
  • Job Calculation (Reviewing of field crew notes)
  • Proficient in combining topographic surfaces – LIDAR and traditional survey surfaces with points and break lines
  • Coordinating with Crew Chiefs and Project Managers, as well as other draftsmen
  • Be passionate about providing the highest level of customer service in the industry
  • Work proactively with coworkers to maximize efficiency and project performance

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of prior survey related drafting experience
  • Detail-oriented & self-starter
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and use new software
  • Track record of steady progression of drafting skills
  • Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a G.E.D. Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of drafting experience
  • Survey Fieldwork experience preferred
  • Strong Math skills
  • CAD-related College Degree
