JANUS Research Group is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Modeler / Systems Engineer to support A-FCD modernization, requirements, architecture, and digital engineering activities. The position will develop structured models representing operational requirements, system functions, interfaces, architectures, and relationships across current and future Army Aviation systems. The MBSE Modeler will help connect operational requirements, system architecture, simulation activities, and engineering analysis within an integrated digital engineering environment.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain MBSE models supporting Army Aviation capability-development activities.
  • Perform requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability.
  • Develop operational, functional, system, and interface architectures.
  • Use SysML to represent requirements, behaviors, functions, interfaces, relationships, and system structure.
  • Develop models using Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw or comparable enterprise MBSE tools.
  • Support engineering lifecycle activities including requirements development, architecture definition, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Identify relationships among mission requirements, system capabilities, interfaces, and performance characteristics.
  • Support development and documentation of strategic architecture and associated data sources.
  • Coordinate with Army Aviation SMEs, AFSIM modelers, KM engineers, and other technical personnel.
  • Support evaluation of alternative designs and system configurations.
  • Maintain model configuration control and technical documentation.
  • Prepare architecture products, engineering reports, and decision-support materials.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant systems-engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience applying MBSE methodologies.
  • Technical proficiency with SysML.
  • Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or comparable enterprise MBSE tools.
  • Experience with requirements analysis and decomposition.
  • Experience defining system interfaces and supporting integration planning.
  • Knowledge of engineering verification and validation principles.
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification.
  • Army or DoD systems-engineering experience.
  • Experience with mission engineering or system-of-systems analysis.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF architectures.
  • Experience supporting JCIDS, requirements management, or Army capability development.
