Overview

CTG is seeking an experienced MES Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and enhancement of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions in a global manufacturing environment. This role will focus on Siemens Opcenter Execution solutions, enterprise application development, and system integrations that enable efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, REST APIs, and relational databases, along with experience supporting manufacturing or industrial applications. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can independently solve complex technical challenges, collaborate with business and IT teams, and contribute to large-scale MES initiatives.

Job Title: MES Software Engineer
Location: Remote, required to be within 1-2 hour commutable distance from Charlotte, NC office location.
Pay Rate: $77.00 - $79.00/hour
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, enhance, and support MES applications using .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Web APIs.
• Configure and maintain Siemens Opcenter Execution solutions to support manufacturing requirements.
• Build and support integrations between MES, enterprise systems, and shop floor technologies.
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
• Support system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide application support.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, business stakeholders, and IT partners to deliver scalable solutions.
• Support messaging and middleware technologies including MSMQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms.
• Participate in testing, validation, and production support activities.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation after training and onboarding.
• Travel: Up to 15% travel possible based on project need.

Qualifications
• 7+ years of software development experience using .NET, C#, and ASP.NET.
• Experience developing enterprise applications using RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as MSMQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar middleware.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and engineering best practices.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps/TFS, or similar source control platforms.
• Experience with relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience supporting applications in manufacturing, industrial, or 24/7 operational environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex technical initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution Designer and Portal (formerly Camstar).
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) platforms.
• Experience supporting MES implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering productivity practices.
