About the Role

As an Industrial Engineer Intern, you will work to identify, define and/or implement process improvement opportunities across store processes and projects. You will use data analytics, in-store observations and other process analysis tools to study the behaviors of Kohl’s associates and optimize how they interact with processes, equipment, and technologies.

About the Internship

  • Dates: The internship is 10 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 7th and ending on Friday, August 13th, 2027.
  • Location: This role is based out of our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
  • Housing: Housing and transportation options will be provided for interns based out of the Corporate Office.
  • Working Arrangements: As a Kohl’s intern, you’ll work in a hybrid-model, working in the office Monday-Thursday. Fridays are a flexible working arrangement date, where associates are able to work from home. However, for our interns, there are occasionally in person events on Fridays.

What You’ll Do

  • Use financial and process analysis to identify company initiatives to invest in and process improvements for existing projects and initiatives being executed within stores
  • Determine how to maximize store and project efficiency while considering the associate and customer experiences.
  • Use process analysis tools such as time studies, process simulation and DMAIC/Six Sigma principles to optimize productivity
  • Collaborate with Technology, Finance and Field partners and process owners
  • Develop business cases to understand the financial benefits of technology or equipment changes
  • Refine store labor models to support effective payroll allocation
