Job description

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Continuous Improvement Co-op Student to support improvement initiatives across the organization. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience applying Lean, process improvement, inventory management and data analysis principles in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement, analyze processes, and help implement solutions that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in:
    • Engineering
    • Business Administration
    • Operations Management
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Data Analytics
    • Or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently. Comfortable working in both office and warehouse environments and engaging directly with frontline employees to understand operational processes.  

All employees of Bayside Distribution must obtain and maintain a personal security clearance and controlled goods approval. To obtain these clearances the applicant must not have resided outside of Canada for a period of six months or more within the last five years. These clearances require police, employment and personal references. 

  • Assist with identifying, documenting, and analyzing warehouse, inventory management, and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collect and analyze data related to inventory accuracy, productivity, order fulfillment, material flow, and other key performance indicators.
  • Support Lean and Continuous Improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, improving material flow, increasing efficiency, and optimizing warehouse operations.
  • Participate in process mapping, workflow analysis, root cause investigations, and warehouse floor observations to understand current state processes.
  • Assist with warehouse layout, space utilization, workplace organization (5S), and material handling improvement initiatives
