About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Co-op Student to join our Research & Development team for a 16-week work term.


This is an opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience while working on real operational projects that improve our products, processes, and manufacturing capabilities. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to help plan, coordinate, and execute projects that have a meaningful impact on our business.


You'll gain exposure to project management, engineering problem-solving, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement while building practical experience that extends far beyond the classroom.


What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with engineers, team members, and stakeholders to identify and deliver operational projects.
  • Assist with planning, executing, and monitoring project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track project schedules, identify potential risks, and help keep projects on schedule.
  • Determine the resources required to successfully complete engineering projects.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist with engineering documentation, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Gain hands-on experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment.


What You Need (Required Qualifications)

Education

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering program (Mechanical Engineering preferred) that includes a co-op work term.

Experience

  • Academic or project experience demonstrating engineering problem-solving, teamwork, and project coordination.

Technical Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Certifications / Licences

  • None required.

Other Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be enrolled in a recognized co-op program.
  • Willingness to relocate to Sydney, Nova Scotia for the duration of the work term.
  • Ability to work on-site during regular day shift hours.
