Job Requirements At Fearless, we are seeking a Senior Database Administrator as part of our Senior Consultant, Engineering and Technical Services career path to provide technical leadership for enterprise database systems supporting federal law enforcement and investigative operations. This role serves as the database architect for production, development, testing, and disaster recovery environments while supporting critical data migration activities. You will manage the administration, security, optimization, and lifecycle of Microsoft SQL Server databases that enable mission-critical investigative systems serving the federal government. This role is fully remote.  At Fearless, this Senior Consultant collaborates with cross functional teams to align the technical vision, implementation, and quality of software systems across development, reliability, testing, and operations. This role will possess the skills to be able to bridge business objectives with technical execution in software development, infrastructure, security, and testing at an advanced application level of proficiency. The Sr. Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable solutions while mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration, and aligning stakeholders with product and project goals. Fearless Your Responsibilities in this Role:  ● Administer enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring database availability, integrity, and performance across production and non-production systems.  ● Design database structures and schemas that support mission-critical applications and investigative workflows.  ● Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data resilience and business continuity.  ● Optimize database performance through indexing strategies, query tuning, and resource monitoring.  ● Lead database security administration, implementing access controls, auditing mechanisms, and compliance with federal data protection standards.  ● Support ETL processes and coordinate data migration activities, including legacy data integration into modernized case management platforms.  ● Develop stored procedures, views, and database utilities that streamline data access and reporting workflows.  ● Coordinate database changes and deployments during production releases, ensuring minimal disruption to investigative operations.

* Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise Work Experience Project Skill and Experience Requirements ● Minimum of 7 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments.  ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience. ● Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.  ● Proven experience with SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, and database architecture design.  ● Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security practices.  ● Experience supporting ETL processes, data migration projects, and disaster recovery planning.  ● Proficiency with Business Intelligence reporting tools, including Crystal Reports and Business Objects. 
Preferred Skill and Experience Requirements ● Current or recent Public Trust BI clearance within the last 3 years.  ● Experience supporting IRS Criminal Investigations or similar federal law enforcement systems.  ● Familiarity with IRS Internal Revenue Manuals (IRMs) and OneSDLC processes.
