Job description

Computer-Based Training Specialist
A. Harold and Associates, LLC (AHA) is seeking a qualified Computer-Based Training Specialist (CBTS). The CBTS is a core member of the courseware development team and works directly with Instructional System Designers (ISD), Multimedia Specialists (MMS)/Graphic Artists (GA), Programmers, Quality Control Specialists (QCS), and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to assist in the design and development of instructionally sound training solutions for the United States Navy (USN).
The ideal candidate has prior Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Interactive Courseware (ICW) development experience on a courseware development team. In addition, the ideal candidate is proficient in Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) authoring tools, such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate.
This is a full-time, in-office opportunity at Corry Station Pensacola. Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance and a polygraph are required.
Specific Duties/Job Requirements:
  • Develops ICW and supporting documentation
  • Participates in the development, testing, maintenance, and delivery of training programs and related materials
  • Develops learning objectives and criterion-referenced tests
  • Selects instructional media, materials, and equipment to meet learning objectives
  • Updates course documentation on a continual basis to ensure timeliness, quality, accuracy, and relevance
  • Works directly with team members to meet all customer requirements and deliver training products within time frame, scope, and budget
  • Applies appropriate Department of Defense (DoD), government, or customer standards/specifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience/Education/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and COTS authoring tools, such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate
  • Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of training product standards and instructional design processes
  • Completes work in an organized and efficient manner
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail
  • Provides concise communication
  • Applies excellent written/grammar skills
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Quickly adapts to process changes

Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of the USN's Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) initiative
  • Prior experience working in a collaborative environment for a detailed courseware development effort
  • Prior experience on a contractor courseware development team for DoD products
  • Courseware development experience with AIM domains
