Entry-Level Electrical / Wire Harness Assembly Technician

Company:

Boeing is currently seeking Entry-Level Electrical / Wire Harness Assembly Technicians in Mesa, AZ.

  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, test development, production and prototype wire harnesses and electrical assemblies. Utilize the Boeing Quality management system to identify and document nonconforming detail parts, assemblies and processes. Work with support teams including engineering, material management, and quality to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, test development, production and prototype wire harnesses and electrical assemblies.

  • Construct wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, routing, and inspecting various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials including use of ruler, scale, and other measurement devices to interpret lengths.

  • Operate tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, solder iron, wire identification and cutting machines, heat guns, and associated tools.

  • Ensure all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues.

  • Complete and maintain all required training and certifications needed to do your job efficiently.

  • Maintain safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions to safety officials or manufacturing supervision.

  • Knowledgeable and able to interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications and written or verbal instructions.

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in electrical (wire harness) materials, fabrication and assembly methods and common shop practices.

  • Knowledgeable and able to apply basic mathematics.

  • Train new employees to complete work packages in electrical harness fabrication.

  • Report job status and constraints to coworkers and supervision.

  • Knowledgeable and able to navigate computer systems for office and shop applications.

  • Listening and interpersonal skills.

  • Periods of standing, lifting, bending for a long periods of time as required.

  • Able to work with others as part of a team including giving and receiving feedback, and assisting others in completion of tasks.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials.

  • Demonstrated experience experience using computers to look up and record information.

  • Must have the ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using written instructions and drawings to complete a task.

  • Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.

  • Experience determining gauge size of wire. Experience using math that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions.

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
