Job description

Assembler I – Pomona, CA
Location: Pomona, California
Day ShiftPosition Overview

We are seeking an Assembler I to support manufacturing operations within the CMI business unit in California. This role involves detailed assembly, filling, packaging, and equipment setup activities in a regulated manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods, rotating between tasks, and handling detailed documentation.

Phone interviews will be conducted prior to offers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly, filling, packaging, and preparation operations following approved procedures and quality standards
  • Set up and adjust manufacturing equipment, including use of Masterflex systems for volume filling
  • Complete line clearance, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and routine equipment cleaning
  • Assemble, inspect, repair, and test products according to written instructions and work orders
  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance teams with troubleshooting and equipment support
  • Maintain accurate production and maintenance documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and OEE
  • Assist with new equipment installation and validation activities
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions under supervisor guidance
  • Follow GMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, and company quality standards
  • Dispose of hazardous waste materials according to established procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, QC, Maintenance, and Management
Work Environment
  • Very detailed and process-driven work
  • Standing for the majority of the shift
  • Rotating through various tasks throughout the day
  • Lifting up to 15 lbs
  • Heavy paper-based documentation; minimal digital entry
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–5 years of experience in assembly, filling, or packaging operations
  • Experience reading work orders and following written instructions
  • Basic GMP knowledge
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Minimal Excel experience
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or food manufacturing environments
  • Packaging and reagent handling experience
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and OSHA regulations
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems, compliance, inventory control, and production scheduling
  • MS Office Suite experience

  • No blueprint reading experience required
