Job description

The Assembler I will assemble, inspect, test and package finished product in one or more assigned work centers. Additionally, the position will inspect to verify quality of the item (finish, scratch marks and dings); and complete paperwork for replacements parts and to close work orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Receive and inspect materials for proper part number and finish prior to assembly.
  • Assemble and package, label products, and close work orders.
  • Inspect finished product for proper finish, leaks, packaging, and labeling.
  • Sort and dispose discrepant materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor and report low/short inventory levels.
  • Adhere to general housekeeping rules and maintenance schedule of work center.
  • Adheres to and be a champion for all safety rules and requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • 6 months relevant work experience preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to learn to read basic blueprint or work instructions
  • Ability to follow pre-established processes and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to use small hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers)
  • Ability to communicate with others
  • Ability to learn different processes and procedures in short period of time
  • Ability to differentiate among colors used in visual inspection

Computer Skills
  • Exposure to smart tablet required

Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses smart tablet, computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity for movement. Requires continual standing/walking, and occasional stooping. This position requires the ability to continuously lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds with or without assistance. Capable of seldom adding a torque of up to 15 ft/lb.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a warehouse environment, and have frequent standing and walking. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. The employee will be working near or around machinery.
