CAD Design Engineer NX / Teamcenter

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer to support mechanical design and drafting activities within a high-performance engineering environment supporting aerospace and defense programs.

This role focuses on creating and reviewing detailed mechanical drawing packages, validating 3D models, and ensuring compliance with military, industry, and ASME standards using Siemens NX 2412 and Teamcenter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, review, and revise mechanical drawings and design packages
  • Develop fully defined 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX 2412 managed in Teamcenter
  • Generate parametric drawings in compliance with ASME modeling and drafting standards
  • Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and fabrication efficiency
  • Verify hardware selection and assembly fitment on engineering prints
  • Resolve GD&T interpretation issues and provide drafting guidance as needed
  • Validate 3D models submitted to manufacturing
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and external vendors
  • Support engineering documentation updates and related design activities
  • May assist with coordinating or directing technical staff activities as needed
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with Siemens NX 2412 and Teamcenter
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and ASME drawing standards
  • Mechanical design and drafting background within manufacturing or aerospace environments
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerance requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work accurately in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments
