Description
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Designer/Drafter to join our team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. This team member will be performing plan production for civil engineering projects related to Transportation and Public Infrastructure. We are seeking two (2) year technical/associates degree OR two to five (2-5) years of experience as a CAD Technician, Drafter, Designer, or Engineering Technician.
Requirements
  • Utilizes computer aided drafting, design software and various other computer software packages to assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
  • Transfers information in numerical, written and sketched, or electronic format from engineering markups and computer files to final plans and maps.
  • Visualizes and illustrates concept or designs in 2 or 3 dimensions.
  • Performs tasks under close supervision or from detail procedures.

Required Skills
  • Proficient in specialized civil design applications for AutoCAD software.
  • Proficient in other widely used computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office).
  • Basic knowledge of computer file directories and use.
  • Fundamental understanding of civil engineering plan and profile development for public infrastructure projects, including the ability to interpret, prepare, and coordinate construction plans for roadway, drainage, water, wastewater, and related municipal infrastructure improvements.
  • Able to assist in the preparation of construction quantity and cost estimates.

Required Experience
  • 2 year technical/associates degree OR 2-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician (or equivalent)
  • High School graduate or GED
