Job description

Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company's key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Responsibilities

Triumph Engine Control Systems in West Hartford is seeking an ECAD Librarian with experience creating schematic symbols and physical footprint library parts. The position involves the review of component specifications whereby schematic symbols and physical PCB footprints can be created for use in new product development, production support and obsolescence.  The position reports to the Electronic Packaging & Components Engineering group and supports other functional groups across Triumph.

  • Create schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts based on vendor datasheets and Triumph standards to be published to the centralized library for use by the design engineers.
  • Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by others for accuracy and compliance with Triumph standards.
  • Process CAD Library Requests for new components and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or producibility of the physical shape within the system assuring compliance to established standards.
  • Assistance with the system and user support of the tools and process.
  • Meet or exceed on-time delivery requirements by effectively planning needed resources and proactively communicating in-process progress.
  • Identify and resolve project issues as they arise.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience developing schematic symbols and physical library parts for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • 5+ years' experience in Mentor Graphics PADS layout and DxDesigner (VX2.4 and greater).
  • Experience with the IPC-7351 footprint creator, IPC610.
  • Experience in DFM/DFT/DFA is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, PCB technology, screening, quality standards, parts selection and PDM is a plus.
  • Experience as a PCB designer a strong plus.
