Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a CAD Manager to join our Bridges & Structures team in New York! Preferred candidates will be located near our Buffalo, Rochester, or Albany offices.  


Our Bridges & Structures team is a highly skilled professional group conducting business across New York and into the New England region. We provide a full range of structural engineering services from scoping, planning, preliminary through final design, and construction for highway, pedestrian, rail bridge and culvert projects in addition to contractor engineering services. 


Responsibilities
  • Produce CAD drawings for new or reconstructed bridges, culverts and miscellaneous highway structures.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs from CAD and surface model files.
  • Prepare reinforcing bar detailing for reinforced concrete structures.
  • Apply and integrate various client CAD standards into CAD templates.
  • May develop 3D CAD models for substructures, grading and alignments/profiles.
  • Assist the engineering and project management team with the development of CAD design methodology and practices.
  • Perform drawing QA/QC on work products from other CADD design and engineering staff.
  • Coordinate with clients and industry to keep current on CAD trends and emerging technologies.
  • Supervise junior staff and assess their training needs.
  • Assist with CAD workload planning.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or certification from a technical school, preferably in Engineering Technology, is required.
  • 10+ years of CADD bridge/structure design experience is required.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following CAD platforms: MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD, Point Clouds, and Digital Delivery is a plus.
  • Desire to stay current on new CAD technologies and emerging trends in the public infrastructure sector. 
  • Interested in working in a team setting with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $75,800 to $118,800 per year (depending on qualifications)
