Description:

JANSON is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Specialist / Design Drafter to join our growing team of creative strategists, designers, and producers. This role is at our Atlanta headquarters in office 3 days a week and 2 days remote. This role will focus on translating concept designs into precise construction and control drawings for hand-off to General Contractors (GCs). You will work closely with our Senior Industrial Designers, Chief Design Officer and Creative Director, and project teams to ensure design intent is accurately and efficiently communicated through technical documentation.

Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the design and branding teams to interpret concept designs and translate them into construction-ready drawings using CAD and Revit.
  • Develop control drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details for physical and virtual environments (e.g., interiors, exteriors, innovation rooms, customer showcase centers).
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards, best practices, and project specifications.
  • Work with the design team to validate design intent and resolve discrepancies between concept and technical documentation.
  • Maintain organized CAD/Revit databases and ensure version control for all project files.
  • Support the design-to-production process, ensuring accuracy and constructability of all deliverables.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials (e.g., annotated drawings,2D/3D views) for internal reviews and client deliverables.
  • Coordinate with General Contractors (GCs), engineers, and fabricators to clarify drawing details and address RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Follow JANSON’s design standards and workflows to maintain consistency across projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in architectural Drafting, CAD Technology, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in CAD drafting, architectural drafting, or Revit modeling.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).
    • Proficiency in Revit (required).
    • Familiarity with SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino (preferred).
    • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
    • Experience with 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and annotation.
  • Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills to articulate technical details clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in dimensions, annotations, and drawing consistency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in defense, federal, or military projects (a plus).
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop for drawing touch-ups or presentations.
